Learmonth-The Pants that Stalked Me on the Web

How do Ads stalked you on the web?

Why some Amazon.com Ads for example keep following you on the same items you have chosen for the first time?

  1. 1- I think they try to follow customers by chasing them from web to another. This may happen to the customers after they visited these web sites at the first time. I think these websites are connected to each other and that's why they can follow us.

2- Because they knew what the customer want or interested in. So, by this way they can attract you more.

  2. 1. I have no idea but I assume that they can hook my IP address. If possible, is it legal or illegal?

    2. Are they follow me? I've never exprience like that. I'm gonna try to find a new item on Amazon.com. haha!

  3. Some ads pops up when you click on a link or enter a website, but those are the noisy ones. and there are those ads like amazon..if you buy usually from amazon they will only show you the things that you might be interested in.

As my friends already said above i agree with them, that they usually use your IP to detect what items you already bought and show you things you might want to buy.

  7. Do you know?
1-Once you click on a popular website, data from this single visit is sent to 10 different companies, including Microsoft and Google subsidiaries, a gaggle of traffic-logging sites, and other, smaller ad firms. Nearly instantaneously, these companies can log your visit, place ads tailored for your eyes specifically, and add to the ever-growing online file about you."

  8. I think that its either the IP or these E-commerce companies are buying information from Amazon or similar websites, otherwise, how did an ad by google knew what I bought from amazon. I think that they are selling information which is invading our privacy.

  9. 1- I dont know, the way internet works can be scaring sometimes!
2- they assume that If you bought a thing, your going to be interested in its category for ever, which is silly :/
